A writer friend of mine
recently commented on gift guides and how ridiculous(ly expensive) they often are. Knowing I’d be posting this, I laughed—and also got a little self-conscious!As I said in my last post, I’m never looking to contribute to overwhelm. Nor do I want to contribute to people buying more than they need. (I’ve been a minimalist for over a decade and think the owning of too may possessions is a foundational source of stress for many modern people.) Very much don’t want to be part of any of that!
That said, we all buy things, and promoting products I love is part of the way I make a (very minimal) income as a mother and a writer. Normally I only share these on Instagram—I’m @radical.homemaker if you’re there and we’re not connected!—and not with my larger writing audience, but since I’m on an Instagram break right now, I’m sharing here!
These products I use and have used for a while. I 100% don’t go seeking referral or affiliate links (not that it’s wrong to!). The way I roll is that I use something because I think it’s awesome and later I find out they have a program of some kind and eventually sign up. Lol. It’s a very sophisticated strategy.
(It isn’t. I may have influence but I’m a terrible influencer.)
All that said, here are 3 things you might wanna check out if you’re in gift-buying mode! If you purchase through my links, I get a little kickback for telling you about it. Win-win.
1. Earthley
Earthley is a wonderful company full of simple and effective natural products to support health. They are woman/mother owned and USA-based and just an overall low-key, good vibe organization. The products are mostly herbal (based on plants). From their materials:
Herbal tinctures are one of the easiest yet most effective ways to incorporate medicinal herbs into your everyday wellness routine. Tinctures are a liquid plant extract. The liquid (alcohol, glycerin) pulls nutrients from the plant, making it highly bioavailable. This means the body can absorb and use a large percentage of the nutrients.
Instead of isolating ONE nutrient, like many synthetic vitamins do, herbal tinctures include the whole herb with all its synergistic components. Tinctures are one of our favorite ways to facilitate health, and we can’t wait for you to experience their amazing benefits.
I talked a bit in my last post about how I take pride in being able to support my families’ bodies in staying healthy (and in healing when necessary). I’ve used Earthley products for years and love having a go-to company like this.
Shop Earthley here. Today through Monday everything is 20% off with code MAMAPOWER. (I got to make my own code for the Black Friday sale, can you tell?)
2. Paper Pie
This is the re-branded name of Usborne Books. If you follow me on Insta you may recall me posting in my stories last year as they were announcing the new name. Not a fan lol, but I digress. This company has the most incredible, unique books for kids as well as games, puzzles, and other cool things.
Paper Pie is an MLM (multi-level marketing) company, and though I’m really not a fan of that business model and the practices that tend to come along with it, I LOVE the books. I was purchasing them anyway, so I decided to sign up as a consultant (or book leader or brand partner or whatever they’re calling them these days). I don’t sell in a typical way—have people host parties, get people to be on my “team,” etc.— I just open my link up a few times a year and share it!
Their Black Friday sale runs through Monday, and it’s 25% off everything and free shipping over $30! Excellent sale.
3. Bombas socks
I’ve worn these for years and they’re amazing. A while back, I committed to only quality footwear (because our feet work hard and deserve to be treated well), and the next logical step was good socks. These are so great—they have a cult following for a reason! They also have an amazing quality guarantee: if your socks get holes, get worn out, or even if you just lose one, they will replace them no questions asked. I just got 5 pairs replaced, two of my old ones and 3 of my husband’s (he’s pretty hard on his socks).
Quick note on this one: I’ve referred so many people to Bombas that I don’t automatically get credit anymore? I reached out, and they said I can still get the reward but I’ll have to manually email customer service (Ok??). So if you use my referral link, would you let me know so I can let them know and get my lil’ kickback? I’d appreciate it.
Shop Bombas socks here. 25% off your order. My link is only for new customers (if you haven’t purchased Bombas before), but I believe they have 25% off for anyone for Black Friday!
That’s all!
Let me know if you have any questions about any of these products (just reply to this email!)—I’ll happily nerd out about any of these brands.
I hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend if you’re here in the U.S.! I also hope you’re not experiencing family drama or, honestly, too much pressure to buY aLL the ThInGS. Reminder: trust yourself. Don’t let anyone tell you what’s what about you or your life, whether that’s a family member or a person on the Internet.
We’re on a little trip with my family in Omaha for the weekend. About to have breakfast and then bundle up and head to the zoo. Talk soon!
P.S. I’ll be posting the next book club post on Sunday (instead of today as the schedule says). These chapters are sooo good!
Earthley!!!!
I discovered them through someone else last year, and have replaced so many products with them! Plus, their tinctures and liquid supplements are amazing. I just placed an order last night. haha
I was too late to get a custom code for Earthley! But I love their stuff. Great list!
